How Do You Calculate Price and Savings With a Discount?
If Discount in %:
Price After = Price Before × (1 - Discount/100)
Savings = Price Before × (Discount/100)
If Discount in $:
Price After = Price Before - Discount
Savings = Discount
Example 1:
- Price Before = $100, Discount = 20%
- Price After = $100 × (1 - 20/100) = $80
- Savings = $100 × 20/100 = $20
Example 2:
- Price Before = $100, Discount = $15
- Price After = $100 - $15 = $85
- Savings = $15
